Winnipeg’s transit system in three words: “Inefficient, outdated, underused.”

Gives current transit system a letter grade of C-.

Obvious need for improvement with Winnipeg Transit.

Frequency: Transit is being held back due to low frequency routes that discourage ridership.

Vison for Winnipeg transit is a green fleet of electric buses, where effective and efficient scheduling increases ridership levels.

Safety: To address safety, would encourage the training and placement of Bear Clan members on transit buses to deter violent and inappropriate behaviour.

Operating funding: Would advocate for continued, and increased, funding from other levels of government as well as in the city budget.

Operating funding: Would like to see a review of spending at Winnipeg Transit, to see if cost controls at a bureaucratic level could redirect funds to frontline service.

Winnipeg’s transit system in three words: “Need more resources.”

Gives current transit system a letter grade of C.

Operating funding: Believes Winnipeg Transit is behind other major cities across Canada due to a huge gap in funding.

Safety: To increase transit safety believes more training and resources are required for the operators and decreasing wait times at transit stops are required.

Believes in prioritizing projects so we are able to have the funding necessary to make improvements to all transit services.
