Functional Transit Winnipeg’s priorities for this election are increased operating funding for transit, implementation of a frequent service network and measures to address driver and passenger safety. We have noted comments related to those priorities in the summaries.
Winnipeg’s transit system in three words: “Great unrealized potential.”
Gives current transit system a letter grade of C.
Public transit is the only way to move 1 million people around our city and it is the best way of fostering walkable neighbourhoods.
Safety: To address safety, will support low income buss pass to reduce fare disputes.
Operating funding: Will advocate for more transit funding.
