Three words: Trying, underfunded, friendly

Declined to provide a letter grade rating for Winnipeg’s transit system.

Transit is important for addressing climate change.

Access to transportation is a justice issue along class, race, disability and gender lines.

Many Winnipeggers are unable to afford public transportation which limits the ways their ability to participate in city life.

Transit system must work for low-income Indigenous women and women of colour, is safe for trans and gender expanding people and for parents using strollers and using the system with children. Fully acknowledging the experiences of these people is necessary to making the system work for them.

Very concerned about user complaints about handi-transit and that those concerns are not being addressed.

Frequency: Weekend and holiday service needs improving.

A 50/50 funding model with the province is a good goal to set.

Safety: The majority of conflict on buses is a result of farebox disputes. Therefore, fares should be returned to their pre-2018 levels and reduced after that.

Safety: Additional steps to address safety could include mental health workers, social workers, Bear Clan members, or other appropriate options.

Safety: Supports improved lighting and bus stop infrastructure to promote safety.

Operating funding: Would prioritize funding for transit and seeking additional revenue from province and federal government.
